Breccia Aventurine - Yakima Canyon - The Black Lightning
This piece of brecciated chert was found. It was cut to follow its natural shape. We don't force stones into standard forms. This freeform cabochon shows its honest character.
We had combed rivers and cliffs in Northeastern Washington, but came up empty. Then Janyce met a rockhound at O'Reilly Auto Parts, and I talked to a guy from Cle Elum. They pointed us to the ancient Yakima River Canyon. We wanted the jasper.
Every stone in the Chert Road Detour — Yakima River Jasper Collection tells a story of survival, rescued from ditches or drought-stricken rivers and ground into something beautiful.
— Bob & Janyce, Rockhound Studio, Spokane Valley WA
Freeform cabochon, high polish finish. Dimensions are approximately 38 x 28 x 6 mm.
This piece is set with a pinch bail and ready to wear as a pendant.
