TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: October 4, 2026

1. OVERVIEW

This website is operated by Rockhound Studio (Bob & Janyce Jones). By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2. THE "HONESTY OVER PERFECTION" POLICY

We sell natural stones and custom freeform cabochons. By nature, these materials contain fractures, pits, asymmetrical patterns, and inclusions. We do not use photo filters to hide these characteristics, nor do we fill them with resins unless explicitly stated.

You acknowledge that you are purchasing a natural, hand-cut, one-of-a-kind product. Variations in color, shape, and surface texture are not defects. What you see in the unedited listing photos is exactly what you get. If it did not pass the Picky Trap, it never made it to the listing.

3. "POLISH YOUR TREASURES" AND CUSTOM MAIL-IN SERVICES

If you utilize our custom memorial cutting or stone transformation services, you agree to the following risks inherent to lapidary work:

The Risk of the Wheel: Grinding and cutting natural stone is a destructive process. Hidden internal fractures can cause a stone to crack, chip, or shatter on the equipment. While we treat every sentimental stone with the utmost care and precision on the Hellstone, Rockhound Studio is not liable for stones that break during the cutting or polishing process.

Shipping Liability: You are responsible for safely packaging and shipping your rough stones to our Spokane Valley studio. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged by the carrier in transit to us.

Final Shape: We cut strictly in the freeform style, letting the stone's natural integrity dictate the final shape. We do not guarantee specific uniform dimensions for custom mail-in rough.

4. MODIFICATIONS TO SERVICES AND PRICES

Prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any service at any time.

5. RETURNS AND REFUNDS

All sales are final on custom-cut pieces and completed lapidary services. If an item arrives damaged due to shipping from our studio to you, contact us at thebench@rockhoundstudio.com within 48 hours of delivery with photographic proof and we will make it right.

For standard product purchases, please refer to our Refund and Repair Policy.
