Brecciated Jasper — Spokane River — The Ancient Mosaic
It was a regular swim day with Rufus at the Spokane River. Rufus saw the snake first. Six feet of water snake on the bank. He got between us and it and growled and growled. The snake ignored all of us and just slithered off. Rufus's hair was on end the whole time. The Rufus Protocol →
We found this one the same day. Pudding stone — what lapidary people call it when the chunks are all different and the silica got in and fused everything solid. Pink granite, black chert, white quartz, all locked together. Mohs 7 across the whole stone. That's why it polished out flat and clean. The Missoula Floods brought it here from Montana. We just found it. The Spokane River Collection →
