Thunderegg Agate Freeform — Irv's Rock & Jewelry — Pirate's Cove

I bought this at Irv's. It was my first freeform. The Shopped Rock → I didn't want to cut a cab. I wanted to know what the inside of a thunderegg actually looked like. So I ground down the crust and kept going.

When I hit that topaz blue, I stopped. Islands started appearing — dark, outlined in gold, floating in a pale blue sea. There's a beacon on the top. A cloud that turned into a cartoon ghost. The whole thing is shaped like a pirate's hat and it's full of little islands. It named itself. Same day, same shop — we left Irv's with two agates. This is a display piece. It sits on its own. No setting, no bail, no cord. Just the stone and what I found inside it.
