Fairfield Utah Variscite and Quartz Cabochon — Spokane Rock & Gem Show 2025 — The Fairfield Find

Sale price$25.00

Variscite is a rare hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral — one of the few genuinely green gemstones that isn't dyed, treated, or confused with something else. The Fairfield, Utah deposit is one of the most prized sources in North America, known for producing material with a clean, saturated apple-green color. This piece has a natural quartz matrix running through it, which gives it contrast and grounds the green.

The rough was acquired at the 2025 Spokane Rock & Gem Show — one of the best regional shows in the Pacific Northwest for sourcing quality Utah material. Hand-cut into a freeform shape in the Spokane Valley shop to preserve as much of the natural color as possible.
